Primary Lead Mentor: Teaching experience of some kind required, but does not have to be traditional experience, 4 year degree required, patience of a saint preferred, experience herding cats applicable. [We have amazing 3.5-5.5 year old learners in our Primary Studio and we utilize a learner-driven play-based model for this studio. It builds critical thinking, creative problem solving, social and emotional regulation and strategies, and executive functioning alongside academics. They're 3 and 4 and 5 so they're wiggly and squirrely and they love to dance and play "pranks." We will train you in the play-based model, but must be excited about and open to this way of learning! Elementary Lead Mentor: Teaching experience of some kind required, but does not have to be traditional experience, 4 year degree required, flexibility and ability to not take behaviors personally are needed as well as being okay with a little bit of controlled chaos! [We have the coolest 1st-5th graders around and they are learning to be full and amazing humans, which includes learning to deal with messy feelings and hard thoughts and working through frustration. In our elementary studio, we teach math through hands-on, manipulative based small group instruction, and reading through reading groups similar to Guided Reading. We utilize Writer's Workshop for writing and an inquiry-based and often project heavy approach to science and social studies.
